Warranty terms and conditions

GREENWORKS PRODUCT WARRANTY TERMS

These terms define the scope, periods and warranty service procedure of the manufacturer's warranty (the Warranty) applicable to Greenworks products (the Product).

The manufacturer's warranty is additional and does not limit the rights granted to consumers by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.

1. Statutory warranty

Consumers are entitled to a statutory guarantee of conformity of at least 2 years.

In the event of non-conformity, a defect or a malfunction of the Product, the consumer must first contact the Seller from whom the Product was purchased.

The manufacturer's Warranty does not replace, cancel or limit the consumer rights granted by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.

If the Product was purchased from KML Trading, MB, for warranty service contact:

KML Trading, MB
Kalvarijų g. 163-2
LT-08311 Vilnius, Lithuania

2. Greenworks manufacturer's warranty period

Personal use

tools – 36 months;
chargers – 36 months;
batteries – 24 months.

Commercial use

tools – 12 months;
chargers – 12 months;
batteries – 12 months.

Personal use means the purchase and use of the Product by a natural person for personal, family or household needs unrelated to business, professional or commercial activities.

Commercial use means the purchase or use of the Product by a company, organisation or other legal entity, as well as in the course of business, professional or other commercial activities.

The Manufacturer's Warranty does not apply to Products used for rental.

The Warranty period is calculated from the date of the first purchase of the Product. The purchase date must be confirmed by an invoice, receipt or other proof of purchase.

3. Resale of the Product

If the Product is sold or otherwise transferred to another owner, the Manufacturer's Warranty remains valid for the remainder of the original Warranty period.

A change of owner does not start a new Warranty period. The Warranty is calculated from the date of the first purchase of the Product.

To make use of the Warranty, a document confirming the original purchase of the Product and its date must be provided.

4. GARAN – 3-year manufacturer's durability guarantee

From 27 September 2026, the harmonised GARAN label applies in the European Union to goods for which the manufacturer provides, at no additional cost, a durability guarantee covering the entire product for more than 2 years.

Application of GARAN to Greenworks products

The GARAN 3-year label applies to Greenworks tools sold separately (“Tool Only”) which, for personal use, are covered by a 36-month manufacturer's durability guarantee covering the entire tool sold.

The GARAN 3-year label also applies to Greenworks chargers sold separately which, for personal use, are covered by a 36-month manufacturer's durability guarantee covering the entire charger sold.

The GARAN label does not apply to batteries sold separately because they are covered by a 24-month Manufacturer's Warranty, i.e. not longer than 2 years.

Kits with a battery

If a Greenworks product is sold as a kit consisting of a tool and a battery, the GARAN 3-year label does not apply to the entire kit because different Manufacturer's Warranty periods apply to its components:

tool – 36 months;
battery – 24 months.

Therefore, the Manufacturer's Warranty longer than 2 years does not cover the entire product sold as one kit.

This does not change the Manufacturer's Warranty periods applicable to the individual components: the tool continues to have a 36-month Manufacturer's Warranty and the battery a 24-month Manufacturer's Warranty.

If the kit also includes a charger, it is covered by a 36-month Manufacturer's Warranty; however, because the kit contains a battery with a 24-month warranty, the GARAN label does not apply to the entire kit.

The GARAN label does not replace or limit the statutory guarantee of conformity granted to consumers by law.

5. What does the Manufacturer's Warranty cover?

The Warranty covers defects in the Product's materials, construction and manufacture arising during the Warranty period when the Product has been used for its intended purpose and in accordance with the instructions for use and the manufacturer's operating and maintenance requirements.

If a warranty defect is established, the Product or its defective part, depending on the nature of the defect, will be repaired or replaced.

In the case of warranty repair, there is no additional charge for the labour required for the repair or for spare parts covered by the Warranty.

Defective parts or Products replaced under the Warranty may be transferred to the manufacturer or its authorised representative.

If a Product or part is replaced under the Manufacturer's Warranty, the Manufacturer's Warranty period does not start again; the Warranty remains valid until the end of the original Warranty period, unless otherwise required by law.

6. When does the Manufacturer's Warranty not apply?

The Manufacturer's Warranty does not apply to faults or damage caused by:

  • use of the Product other than for its intended purpose or contrary to the instructions for use;
  • improper use or overloading of the Product;
  • improper assembly, installation, storage, transport or maintenance of the Product;
  • impact, collision, dropping or other mechanical damage;
  • use of parts, attachments or accessories unsuitable or not intended for the Product, if this caused the fault or damage;
  • contact with soot, smoke, chemicals, water, moisture, corrosive substances or other corrosive materials or environments, unless the Product is intended for such conditions;
  • an unsuitable power source, incorrect voltage or incorrect connection;
  • insufficient or improper maintenance;
  • improper repair, disassembly or modification of the Product;
  • unauthorised alteration of the Product's construction, software or other technical characteristics;
  • other external factors unrelated to a defect in the Product's manufacture, materials or construction.

The Warranty may also not apply if the Product's serial number or other identification marking has been removed, altered or is illegible and the Product therefore cannot be reliably identified.

7. Normal wear and consumable parts

The Manufacturer's Warranty does not cover normal wear of the Product or its parts resulting from ordinary use.

Depending on the type of Product, consumable and naturally wearing parts include, among others:

  • tyres;
  • bearings;
  • cables and wires;
  • belts;
  • cutting blades;
  • collection bags;
  • carbon brushes;
  • chucks;
  • power cords;
  • drill bits;
  • sanding parts and plates;
  • saw chains;
  • trimmer lines;
  • wear parts of trimmer heads;
  • other parts that naturally wear through normal use.

The Warranty also does not cover normal periodic maintenance and adjustment work, including cleaning, blade sharpening, belt or cable adjustment and other routine maintenance.

Augers and scrapers of snow throwers, drill bits, mower blades, mower housings and similar parts are not covered by the Warranty where damage has resulted from impact with a foreign object, abrasive action or other mechanical effects.

8. Battery warranty

Greenworks batteries for personal use are covered by a 24-month Manufacturer's Warranty and those for commercial use by a 12-month Manufacturer's Warranty.

The Warranty covers manufacturing, material and mechanical defects of the battery.

A battery is a product subject to natural wear. As the battery is used and the number of charge and discharge cycles increases, its capacity and ability to store energy gradually decrease.

A natural reduction in battery capacity or operating time due to use, charging cycles, storage conditions and natural ageing is not in itself considered a manufacturing defect.

The Warranty also does not cover battery damage caused by improper charging, use of an unsuitable charger, improper storage, failure to observe temperature requirements, mechanical damage, moisture or other conditions contrary to the instructions for use.

This does not limit the rights granted to consumers by law if the battery does not meet the statutory product quality requirements.

9. Spare parts warranty

The Manufacturer's Warranty period for spare parts purchased separately is 6 months, unless otherwise specified for a particular part.

This period does not apply to naturally wearing and consumable parts.

The Manufacturer's Warranty period established for consumers does not limit consumer rights under the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.

10. How to make a warranty claim?

Upon noticing a Product fault or another possible warranty case, the Buyer must first contact the Seller from whom the Product was purchased.

For warranty service, the following must be provided:

  • information about the Product;
  • a document confirming the purchase of the Product and its date;
  • as precise a description as possible of the observed fault or problem;
  • the Product itself when inspection is necessary to determine the cause of the fault.

If the Product was purchased from KML Trading, MB:

KML Trading, MB
Kalvarijų g. 163-2
LT-08311 Vilnius, Lithuania

11. Delivery of the Product for inspection

A technical inspection of the Product may be required to determine the cause of a fault and assess whether the fault is covered by the Warranty.

The Buyer delivers the Product to the Seller or to an inspection or service location specified by the Seller.

Before sending the Product by courier, post or other means of transport, it is recommended to agree the shipping address and method with the Seller in advance.

If inspection establishes that the fault is covered by warranty, warranty service is provided free of charge and necessary costs associated with warranty service are reimbursed in accordance with applicable law and the Warranty terms.

If it is established that the fault arose from circumstances not covered by the Warranty, the Buyer is informed of the identified cause and, where possible, of the option of paid repair.

In the case of a non-warranty fault, diagnostic, transport and repair costs may be charged. Before paid repair work is carried out, the Buyer is informed of its price.

The Seller is not obliged to reimburse unjustified additional transport or other costs that were not agreed with the Seller in advance, except where otherwise required by law.

A Product being shipped must be properly and safely packed. Batteries and other parts classified as dangerous goods must be transported in accordance with the transport requirements applicable to them.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Manufacturer's Warranty does not cover indirect or consequential losses arising from a Product fault or temporary inability to use it, including lost revenue, profit, business opportunities or other indirect losses.

This limitation does not apply where such liability cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

13. Territory of Warranty validity

The Greenworks Manufacturer's Warranty under these terms is valid in:

  • Lithuania;
  • Latvia;
  • Estonia.

14. Final provisions

The Manufacturer's Warranty supplements, but does not replace or limit, rights granted to consumers by applicable law.

The Manufacturer's Warranty terms may be amended for future purchases. Amendments do not cancel or shorten the Warranty already granted to a specific Product before the amendment, unless the new terms are more favourable to the Product owner or otherwise required by law.

If any provision of these Warranty terms conflicts with mandatory provisions of applicable law, the relevant provisions of law apply.
