Frequently asked questions –
K. What is the best way to store a battery?
A. The battery should always be stored indoors in a dry environment. The storage temperature should be between 5°C and 35°C for a long lifetime and never store in direct sunlight or near heat sources. If you want to store it for a longer period of time, we recommend a battery charge of at least 40%.
K. What is the best way to charge my battery?
A. The battery should only be charged indoors between +5C and +45C, as extreme temperatures can cause the battery protection system to trip and shut down the battery functions for your safety. A lithium-ion battery performs best when it is between 30 and 60 per cent charged. In the case of Greenworks batteries, this corresponds exactly to the two LEDs in the charge level indicator. So, unlike older batteries, it makes sense to recharge lithium-ion batteries briefly.
K. How long will my battery last before I need to replace it?
A. Despite the fact that batteries are classed as consumables, if stored properly, a battery should last for approximately 1000 cycles (a cycle is a charge from 0 to 100%) For a normal user, this would last for many years.
